With support from Aflatoun International and Spirit in Action, Hope for Relief Organisation is implementing this project in Rumphi and Chitipa District. This project targets school going adolescent girls aged 10-24 in primary and secondary schools. It is being supported by Spirit in Action and Aflatoun International. The project’s main goal to have a society where school girls in rural areas have access to adequate sanitary facilities for a healthy and empowered future generation.
This project involves a number of initiatives including, constructing girls’ sanitary bathrooms, distributing reusable sanitary pads for free to rural poor school girls, holding engagement meetings between parents, mother groups, teachers and village committees and formation of Girls Clubs and Aflatoun Clubs. The Aflatoun Clubs are for both boys and girls aged 10-24 years. These initiatives are aimed at increasing the number of girls continuing and finishing primary and secondary school.
